The idea
Mononoke Forest is a small, entire-home stay for two in a quiet residential neighborhood of Fujigaoka, Nagoya. The idea is simple: a room in the deep, mossy greens of a forest where you can slow down and breathe between the sights. It sits a 4-minute walk from Fujigaoka Station — the start of both the Higashiyama subway and the Linimo line — an easy base for Ghibli Park and the sights along the way, right from the start of the day. Self check-in with a smart lock (16:00–21:00) means a smooth, key-free arrival.

The nicest place I've ever stayed. Clean, lovely, with a wonderful scent in the room — a space that echoed Nagoya's clear, quiet nature. I still can't forget it.
The hosts were truly spectacular — so welcoming on our first trip to Japan. The apartment was peaceful, spotless and thoughtfully prepared, with very comfortable beds. Worth every penny.
The place was very clean and cozy. Fully equipped, and the hosts always replied to messages quickly and were extremely friendly and helpful.
A very quiet place with all the amenities you need — I loved the theme of the space.
The room was clean and pleasantly scented, and the host was very thoughtful. Replies came quickly too — a perfect stay.
I stayed 3 days for Ghibli Park and couldn't have been more satisfied. The room was exactly as advertised and more, with free water, snacks and amenities.
A great place to stay if you're in town for Ghibli Park — about a 30-minute train ride to the park, a 5-minute walk from the station, and highly walkable to nearby restaurants and bars.
The hosts were very responsive and helpful. The place is just right for 1–2 people, and amenities like the kitchen made the stay comfortable.
